About Shulin Lake Resort
About The Resort
Shulin Lake Resort is an authentic fly-in, fly-out Trapper Creek Alaska Lodge. When you arrive in Alaska during the summer months, whether it be by car, air, or ship, you'll find it to be bustling with tourists from all around the world. Fortunately, the Resort is remote and because of this, you'll be able to experience Alaska the way it should be...free of the crowds and away from the hustle and bustle.
The 6,400 square foot main lodge sits picturesquely on 9+ acres against the Alaska skyline. It features three guest bedrooms all with their own bathrooms and modern amenities. In addition, the property features a separate seven-bed, three-bathroom bunkhouse to accommodate larger groups of 8-12 guests. The lodge has a large dining area including a chef's kitchen which features quality equipment used to prepare all the meals. A twenty-foot hand-crafted fireplace captivates the living space. There is a large deck situated directly off the back of the lodge that overlooks the lake. Perhaps you are simply looking for that peaceful relaxing backdrop to afternoon naps and a good book then our large deck is the place for you.
At Shulin Lake Resort you'll also be able to take advantage of a variety of fishing opportunities. Here there is no shortage of great fishing spots including fly-fishing for Salmon on a nearby river or one of the nearby glacial-fed streams. Fish for Rainbow Trout on the Lake right outside our back door from one of the Resort’s kayaks, from shore or from the dock. We will provide all the necessary fishing equipment and gear. Cleaning and packaging of fish is also included. The Lodge is truly a gem sitting amongst the most serene backdrop you'll come across.
In addition to the scenic surroundings, there are plenty of activities that guests can participate in, all of which are included in the price of your stay. While you are here, try your hand at gold panning, archery, Sherping, kayaking, ATV'ing, biking, hiking, pickleball, our various yard games, board games, and don’t forget our unique par-3 golf hole. So many different opportunities that will help foster a vacation that is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one you won't soon forget.
About Your Hosts
My family’s Alaska adventure started 30 years ago when Jason and I traveled from our home in South Dakota to Alaska for our honeymoon. It was way back then when we fell in love with the state and knew that at some point, we would call Alaska home.
We returned to South Dakota where we graduated college, worked on our careers, and raised our four sons. Over the years we would continue visiting Alaska all the while introducing our boys to the vast opportunities that the Alaskan wilderness provides. My family’s love for the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and hiking remains strong and serves as a constant reminder of what drew us to Alaska all those years earlier.
In the fall of 2022, we purchased this beautiful Resort located in the Mat-Su Valley on the edge of Shulin Lake and spent all of 2023 preparing the property for guests. It is our desire to continue sharing our love of the Alaskan wilderness by providing travelers with diverse activities and unparalleled lodging. My family is excited for our new adventure and look forward to sharing it with you. Feel free to give us a call to hear more about our Resort, the excursions, and the amenities we provide. I hope our paths cross soon. Until then, safe travels and be well!
